Currently listening to the story of the Iranian couple. If you have 26 minutes to listen, please do so. Here’s the description: Act One. Not Your Parents’ Parent Trap. The story of an Iranian couple who were unhappily married for 27 years. He had a temper. She never really loved him. So they split up, got divorced. And then, two years after that, to everybody’s...

The Clean 15: Foods You Don't Have to Buy Organic →
To go with the Dirty Dozen I just posted, this is the clean 15 — foods that you don’t really need to buy organic because they have the fewest pesticides. Of course, if you have access to and can afford to buy EVERYTHING organic, then by all means do so. But, somehow, I doubt that’s the case for a lot of us, so we should start somewhere.

Dirty Dozen Top Foods to Buy Organic →
This is a list of foods that are grown and sold with the most pesticides on them. If you can’t buy all organic food (I know I can’t), then it’s strongly encouraged that you at least start with these. The numbers on some of this stuff are unsettling! I was particularly surprised about the bell peppers because I put those in everything when I cook.

City Acupuncture of New York →
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m moving to NYC in a couple of months. Much excitement about everything that comes with that, and I’ve just discovered that my new place is close to City Acupuncture of New York! So now instead of sulking and being jealous of BFP and her adventures in acupuncture, I get to reap the benefits of treatment at a more affordable price too. I can’t...

Community Garden Locator →
Another great resource for New Yorkers — it’s called the community garden locator but actually shows so much more! Enter the address, and you’ll get a map showing nearby schools, parks, gardens, subways, etc. It also draws neighborhood borders for you and tells you the community board and city council of a particular area. SO AWESOME!
