Our new album out today! →
By the way, I haven’t yet told all of you of your task for this month: listen to April Smith’s music and possibly buy her album. Tis quite good, I must say!
And I already got my tickets for her show too. Still on top of it.
How did we get here? How the hell?

Christmas! Christmas Eve, last year…

How could a night so frozen be so scalding hot? How could a morning this mild be so raw?

HOLY SHIT SLEDGEWEB, I LOVE YOU TODAY! OMGBBQBRBAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Oh, and I’m assuming you’re smart enough to know that if you haven’t watched The Lighthouse, spoiler alert…
Dear Google,
I gave Buzz a try. I didn’t like it much, but I kept trying. You had all those privacy issues, but I kept trying. But this is just such a hassle. If I want one of my gchat statuses to be public, there’s no easy way of doing that the way I can do it with a regular buzz. I have to manually change my status settings, then update my status, wait for it to post, then save my...
Oh crap… why did I just watch the sneak peeks for next week’s episode on ABC’s website? Whyyyy? Okay, not so much the second one cuz that was stupid, but the first one - OH MY!

Last night, I had a LOST dream
Well, kinda.
In it, I was on the show (like, an actual actor on the show). Evangeline Lilly and I were really upset because apparently we were supposed to direct an episode together but at the last minute they switched it and had Michael Emerson direct instead. So then we end up in some weird cave and suddenly Cara’s with us because I guess she’s on the show too. We get to the center...
I just tried to catch up with my dashboard after not checking it since Saturday… I failed miserably, so please forgive me if I missed awesome stuff.

The perfect challenge for ones who don’t see color: this kinda forces you to.
My score was 31. Eesh.
Mine was 24. its a bit better than average, yeah?
4.
I knew Nez would be the one to ace the test. But I’m still proud of my 8!
I got an 11. Boo. I blame my guy distracting me…
By the way, I need to get a group of friends together so we can all become notaries or something, because this is annoying! In the past two weeks I’ve gone to the bank three times to get something notarized. The first time all went well, except then the stupid paper fell on the wet ground and was ruined. I went back the second time and the lady refused to notarize the document because my...
More on Google Buzz Privacy
Because I just gave a little tutorial to some of my google peeps on this. If you actually want to play around with Buzz (b/c you have free time or love social media or whatever) but you’re still worried about privacy until they work out their kinks:
just so folks know, i’ve switched my buzz to private. (people ask about that) Right now if you are using buzz, it’s switched to...

The problem is that — by default — the people you follow and the people that follow you are made public to anyone who looks at your profile.
In other words, before you change any settings in Google Buzz, someone could go into your profile and see the people you email and chat with most.

*sigh* Google Buzzzzz! You need to consider these things before launching a product! You should also consider how to improve on other newly-launched products *coughwavecough* before doing other half-ass launches!

It’s been about 10 years since the last time I touched a piano. I’d really like to start playing again. I need to make this happen somehow…
And, along with that, I would like to at least get some of my singing ability back. I mean, I can still sing, it’s not like I somehow stopped being able to carry a tune. But my range is awful, I can’t hold notes as long as I used...
Teen Girls: some historic thoughts
annaoverseas:
I want to spend a bunch of time today talking about the “teen girls like it, so it’s crap” meme. But I’m really busy, so you’ll get it on tumblr in bits and drabs. Yay?
That said, there’s an interesting history of hating what teen girls like. There was a sudden upswing in teen-girl [1]hate leading up to the “free love” *cough* of the 60s. For a variety of social reasons, teen...

Well that episode could have been a bit better. :/
Kate-centric episodes drag! That was mostly a bunch of nothing. Next week’s looks a lot better.
I was thinking the same thing regarding Kate-centric episodes. Not her acting, but the substance they give her (or lack thereof).
That said, I think we found out some good stuff to connect the dots and I’m with...
I just want to say, regarding Claire
I WAS RIGHT! NAYSAYERS! Okay, so my vague “Christian-induced trance” thing was slightly off the mark, yet not really. I’ve never been so satisfied with being right.
So that Beatles book...
I’m finally getting around to finishing Here, There and Everywhere after taking a break for almost a month to read other things (though, why I stopped with only 40 pages to go is beyond me). I really like it! I don’t have others to compare it to really, but I LOVE reading about how the music itself was actually made.
My only annoyance is how he describes the Beatles. For starters,...

no for serious, SPOILERS for last week’s premiere! don’t say i didn’t warn you!
anyway, this comes courtesy of cindy mclennan’s recap at TWOP, and i like it because it focuses on the most headache-inducing aspect, for me, of the sideways reality (and one i haven’t really seen anyone else focus on except other people who are irrationally obsessed with daniel faraday....
