christmas music already, radio stations?
i… approve!i know, right? cynical jaded me, on board with the “christmas season starts on black friday” train?
YES. YES I AM. y’all, i can’t explain it. in principle, i’m not a huge fan of either christianity OR commercialism. AND YET. i love the christmas season, god i do! i love tinsel, and the way NYC puts christmas lights on all the sidewalk trees, and those giant light-up snowflakes they hang up, and the existence of the rockefeller center tree even though i haven’t seen it in person since i was a little kid, and central park covered in snow even though i hate snow, and christmas music (YES. SO MUCH YES), and christmas-themed episodes on the shows i watch, and… i don’t know. i don’t know what it is. i love christmas, i shouldn’t love christmas, i sort of wish i lived in japan where no one is christian but everyone loves christmas so that i would feel less alone in my blatantly unspiritual christmas love.
plus, after christmas is the run-up to NEW YEAR’S, which is and has for many many years been my favoritest holiday of them all because of my obsession with starting things over even though i know nothing ever changes.
december makes me stupid, i guess. whatever. it’s good times.
I’m not the biggest fan of christmas. But christmas music should be played year round! I mean, really, who’s not on board with this?!
