Still more questions:

Why is DHARMA still doing food drops if the Others killed them all like 20 years ago, how did the Black Rock end up in the middle of the island, wtf is the “magic box” thing about and how the hell did Locke’s dad get to the island, why did the Others kidnap all those people and what did they do with them (and wtf does “we’re here to watch” mean?), why does Desmond become unstuck in time, what was that giant bomb doing on the island, and why does Dr. Chang use fake names related to candles while making all of his orientation vids?

I’m even less optimistic about these being answered. But hey, you never know. Especially with LOST.

Bolded above are some of my big questions. Let’s have fun with the rest!

I assumed the Black Rock got on the island because it was passing through the ocean as the island moved onto the same spot.

I thought they lied about the magic box and that he just came through submarine like everyone else.

I think the others killed those people, don’t know what “we’re here to watch” really meant other than intentionally freaking people out.

I think the bomb was there in case all the experimenting and whatnot went awry (I actually think there are two bombs to accomplish this and that we just don’t know about the other one — but this is just one of my “OMG LOST IS SO UNPREDICTABLE WHAT WOULD I THINK OF” theories).

I always assumed Dr. Chang just did it so that people wouldn’t know they were talking about the same person if people from different stations ever found each other and started talking? Or for funsies.

Well, we saw the Black Rock approaching the island while Jacob and Esau were sitting and chatting on the Beach. So if that’s what happened, the island certainly didn’t move very far. Though if we hadn’t seen it arriving, it’d be a very interesting theory.

Entirely possible about the magic box. I mean, Ben already said that it was a “metaphor” and not an actual box. But I still don’t know. It has never really come up again.

If they killed them, they really took their time, because they were still alive when Jack was in the cage, obviously. And that was, what, way past the 48 day mark of being on the island. Oh, and we saw Cindy and the kids again when Locke arrived at the camp to be the leader! So they’re definitely alive. Or, at least some of them are. Why they were taken is the real question. Do the Others really think they’re helping them?

I think that Faraday mentioned something to Alpert about the military previously being on the island in relation to the bomb. Which is a whole different question. But I haven’t rewatched Season 5 yet (gonna start soon!), so I’ll have to get back to you on that.

Dr. Chang just befuddles me. For funsies is probably right :P

Yeah I think the island might jump when it senses danger or… whatever the hell the Black Rock might have really been bringing to them. But I think maybe Jack, Esau, or the Black Rock itself would have somehow not gotten the island to jump and in that weird state, it didn’t jump fare enough. I have no idea, now my head hurts from thinking about it lol.

Damn it, I forgot about Cindy seeing them again. Shoot… Hmm yeah, idk then… But yeah, before that, I just assumed they kept them around and killed them off one by one as they realized that they couldn’t get out of them whatever they originally took them for. For that question, I assumed it was different for each depending on whatever they did before the island. I think really why I’ve always thought that is because they took Jack for a reason we actually know about, so I figured everyone must have had something special that we just aren’t aware of the way we know with Jack. And the kids, I thought it was to see if they have abilities like Walt or to try to have them grow up and reproduce.

And I think you’re right about the bomb, but I just thought he was lying lol
